dannyboy: updating Sero app for mac
The Sero app is intel based. When Mac stops support for it, how am I to update this program?

Apple's support for the current Sero app won't end until September 2027. We plan to have an Apple Silicon-compatible version of the Sero app out by then.

I am running the Sero App on an Apple silicon based Mac. It works just fine.

MacOS currently employs an application translation layer called Rosetta 2 that translates the Intel x86 code into native Apple Silicon code. They will be pulling support for Rosetta 2 in September 2027, at which time Intel-only applications (like the current version of Sero) will cease to function. We plan to take steps to ensure that a MacOS 28-compatible version of Sero will be available in time for the transition.
Universal apps, which include both Intel and Apple Silicon code, will continue to function in MacOS 28 and future versions of the OS. Apple Silicon native apps of course, will continue functioning as they currently do.

Shawn: Thanks for the clarification. I know you guys are thinking ahead and both of your messages bare witness to that fact.

Awesome, and I hope some of the media playback bugs are fixed in the process. It's essentially unchanged in over a decade, and while I think that's an amazing testament to software stability, I'd love it if the app took advantage of modern macOS features like remote control of media playback and Siri integration. Same on iOS, of course.
