Today’s Verse:
and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon.Then Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching people. - Luke 5:10
We all have our fears. I can imagine that in this situation Peter had some fears of his own. He had just witnessed nothing short of a miracle and was asked to follow the person responsible for doing it. I know if I had been in a similar situation I probably would have frozen right there. Experiencing something like that would have left me speechless for a few hours at least. Peter and the others didn’t do that when Jesus called them; instead, they dropped everything and followed Him. There are times when we need to step back and think things through. There are also times when we just need to trust that God has something big around the corner for us and embrace it. Today’s Prayer:
Jesus, I know You have great and wondrous things planned for me and those around me. Today I pray that when You call I will answer without hesitation and always trust You fully. Amen.
