When you fall into temptation
As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. – Psalm 103:12
Have you ever found yourself falling into the same sin again… even after you promised God you wouldn’t?
I have. And over time, the battle isn’t just with sin… it’s with believing I’m actually forgiven. I confess, I ask God for mercy, but deep down, it feels harder to receive it.
In those moments, the enemy whispers lies: This time you’ve gone too far. God is tired of you. You should know better by now.
And slowly, those lies start to sound louder than the truth. We begin to believe our sin is too great, that we’ve somehow crossed a line we can’t come back from.
But God’s Word says otherwise. “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12).
The moment we confess, God forgives, not because we’ve earned it, and not because we feel worthy of it, but because of who He is. And because of what Jesus has already done on the cross.
Forgiveness was never meant to be measured by our emotions. It’s anchored in God’s character and His promises.
Even when your feelings lag behind, His grace still holds. His love doesn’t waver based on your performance.
Take a moment today and let that truth settle in your heart.
Prayer: Lord, thank you that your forgiveness is greater than my sin. Teach me to receive your grace fully and rest in the finished work of Jesus. Amen.
Reflect: Have you ever been utterly astounded by God’s grace in your life? Take a minute and consider how deep His love is for you.
